The sea we pass on to future generations also depends on the values we are able to instil today. That is why, when children are the ones teaching us to respect the environment, their message takes on an even deeper meaning.
The pupils of the Don Uva/Cosmai Comprehensive School have chosen to become ambassadors for our sea by creating an awareness campaign against littering on beaches. Through simple and sincere words, they remind us that every action matters and that loving one’s local area also means protecting it, every single day.
The signs produced by Bisceglie Approdi, in collaboration with the Municipality of Bisceglie and Coldiretti Pesca, were installed in recent days at the main access points to Bisceglie’s beaches, so that their message can accompany residents and visitors along our coastline.
“The idea of an awareness campaign on such important issues being led by children could not leave us indifferent,” says President Nico Ventura. “I firmly believe that we have a duty to support and promote initiatives such as this, so that environmental education, through children and their families, can help build a better society. Investing in young people always brings results.”
Environmental protection is not achieved through rules and penalties alone, but above all through education, example and active participation. Every child who learns to respect the sea grows into an adult capable of protecting it.
